Back To The 90's!!

We are looking at the SIZE of the logos on some new tees and sweatshirts and learning why they are making such a big comeback. Logos are definitely in vogue again, they’re popping up everywhere and it’s making some people think they are in a bit of a 1980s time-warp. Well, yes and no, says Tom. “Fashion is doing what fashion always does: it is turning full circle"
Everyone nowadays knows all about Hilfiger but back in the day it was all about ‘Tommy Jeans’ – with a huge logo to boot. “We are seeing the re-emergence of the big logo,” says Tom. “This look was obviously very popular in the late 1980s and early 1990s, and that was made famous by the likes of Tommy. This is them really going back to their roots as a jeans brand."
Before your dad gets too excited about the return of his youth, be aware that this particular revival is likely to be slim-fit than the more, er, comfortable or over-sized versions that were popular 25 to 30 years ago. But the nice thing about wearing the big logo is that for a new generation, it’s a new thing, they have never seen it before. Influencers and celebs who are driving the trend include Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton, currently working on a new Lewis Hamilton/Tommy Hilfigher collection.
Colour blocking has also returned as also a big and bold trend this summer; some of this year’s clothes are super smart including a savage top in the colours of the Hilfigher flag – red, white and navy. Other brands such as Calvin Klein and Superdry are having their say too, whipping up stunning logo-led pieces and colour blocking across scores of garments this season.
The good news is that all of this and more is available at Ej’s in the shop and online, thanks to the expert planning and buying decisions made by the EJ’s team over the past 12 months.
One last thing, if you don’t fancy going nuts with the logos or colour blocks, there is a very cool alternative available in-store and online at ejmenswear.com. Yes, it’s the return of Italian Giant, Sergio Tacchini. The sportswear brand which was founded in 1966 by Italian Tennis legend Sergio Tacchini himself has been making a huge comeback in the fashion world in recent times and we are delighted to receive some of these ziptops – absolute beauties- and many more just in time for summer!
