Chinos

Colour and fit are the two most important aspects of a good chino. The original khaki (light brown) is the traditional and most popular colour, but now you can get pretty much any shade you like. Stick to the same cut you prefer to have from your jeans. Try and match like for like. We find that when some people experiment to try something new (for example, going from regular fit jeans to skinny chinos), they see the difference can put them off trying other chinos.

The only major difference would be pocket usage. If you want chinos to have a more formal outfit, and you’re opting for a khaki or cream, it looks better for your front pockets to be empty. That’s why we stock some five-pocket “western style” chinos.

You don’t want to be let down by a subpar pair of chinos that don’t keep you fit. So to avoid things like wear around the groin or your chinos being too tight to the calves, we recommend brands like 6th Sense, Bugatti, Farah, Gant & Tommy Hilfiger; the latter of which is ideal if you’re going for that American coastal beach look – their Bleeker chinos are a customer favourite.

Don’t get let down by cheap pre-packaged chino multipacks. A decent pair of chinos should cost a little more, but never break the bank. Our range starts at around €50 and goes up to €140-150 for top-tier premium brands.
